Orate ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application for practicing public speaking. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

• Username: A pseudonymous username you choose during onboarding. This is not your real name.
• Audio Recordings: Speech recordings you choose to submit for peer evaluation. Recordings are stored securely on our servers.
• Evaluations: Star ratings and optional voice feedback you provide when evaluating other users' speeches.
• Anonymous Identifiers: We use anonymous authentication to associate your data with your device. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To display your speeches to other users for peer evaluation
• To show you evaluation results from other users
• To display your chosen username alongside your speeches and evaluations

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Supabase, a cloud platform with servers secured by industry-standard encryption. Audio files are stored in Supabase Storage and database records in Supabase Postgres.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your speech recordings and evaluations are only visible to other Orate users as part of the peer evaluation feature.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your speeches from within the app at any time. Deleting a speech permanently removes the audio recording and all associated evaluations. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, please contact us.

6. Children's Privacy

Orate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
